Ditto what everyone else has said. You can also check out Tim's blog. He includes some good stuff.
Do everything you can to get the student ministry in front of the congregation. Make announcements, visit Sunday school classes, get the students involved in the Sunday morning service, etc. It will be diff from church to church.

What a sincere and honest question! Very cool stuff!

Facebook, Facebook, Facebook! Odds are almost all of your students have a facebook and you'd be surprised how incredibly easy it is to use!

Follow these easy steps: (1) Have a fun event like bowling or a bonfire (2) Take pictures of the students hanging out (3) Post them on your facebook page and tag the students that are in the pictures (the picture will be sent to your teen) Your teens will love it and they will love you!

Remember, one step at a time and don't be sure they've "written you off" - teens are very insecure, they probably like you a lot more than you know ;O)

I don't really have gifts in the area of video or multi media either, I also forget to take pictures as well, infact I don't even have camera, so my only alternative is ... oral. Yup the best communication method, for me anyways, is speaking to the congregation and leaders directly and informing them about what's happening with the youth in all areas, give them an update each week if necessary. What I do with those youth that have maybe "written us off", go and speak to them and just invite them to the meetings again, in a positive way. If they listen and attend the meeting you have a chance to get them excited again.
Website not "cool", well then change it up and make it appealing and/or informative.
I hope this helps in some way.

Facebook, twitter, youtube, broadtexter, simply text, and the like.
Use what students are already doing to communicate with them. Set up a facebook fan page for your group. Load pictures, set events, invite every student you know.
Send out text message announcements.
Makes some videos and put them on youtube or face book.
