1. Ask God for His wisdom

2. Search the Scriptures daily

4. Study to show yourself approved of God

5. Comfort one another with these things

6. Read Revelation (only book where God specifically promises a blessing to the reader and the hearer too!)

6. Flee youthful lust and stay away from idols

7. Look up! Our redemption draws near!

Revelation is in three parts:

A. The things John saw (Chapter One)
B. The things John sees (Chapter Two to Four)
C. The things John foresees (rest of the book)

And I would just add the word of warning, regardless of theological bent, not to get too wrapped up in the who/what is being symbolized and times and dates. We tend to want to try to "figure things out" and miss the big picture of the triumph and worship of Jesus, which seems to be the point of the whole book.

revelation may be the easiest book in the bible to understand if you take the time to understand that it is written in code. most everything comes out of the book of Danial and Isaiah. i would agree with everyone else that it would be wise to look into this on your own so you can understand the code John is using. And leave the left behind series out of it because that stuff is crazy wrong.

Mm, I have the say the first place to go every time you're sitting down to form a lesson or series is the Word itself. It worries me a little how quickly we as youth leaders want to jump to something ready-made. My suggestion is definitely to do a personal study through Revelation first, then read some internet/book sources, and then form your own (Biblically sound) curriculum. It will also mean a lot more to your kids. And it's always been worth all the time and effort for me.

so much of this depends on your theology, but here are a couple resources:
<i>Revelation: Four Views</i> edited by Steve Gregg. Pretty heady and might not be worth it if you are looking for something quick.

Find a good commentary, I like Holman. They are designed to help put together messages or lessons.
