I realise that teens are highly influenced by what they listen to. I also realise that there is a lot of really bad music out there lyrically.

As someone who loves music, I have to admit most "Christian" music is trash musically, and sometimes the lyrics for some of the bands that claim that they are "Christian" aren't that good either.

My advice would be to educate your crew that when they listen to all music to reflect on what the lyrics are talking about.
Asking questions like:
What is their god?
What are they longing for?
What solutions are they trying to provide?
What pain are they experiencing?
And finish by asking how does the Gospel give real answers to the pain, idolatry and longing found in the music.

For a good internet radio station try Remedy.fm. You can even get as an iphone app. It has a good selection of alternative christian music from hard core rock to rap.

Pastor Joe is right on with Phil Chalmers. He is amazing
