FCA or another Christian Club meeting at the school. Building relationships with these kids especially the ones in your own ministry gives you students to connect with at ball games, lunch, etc. These are the students you can come up to and make initial conversation with and they then introduce you to all the people they are around. School lunch has been one of the biggest opportunities for me. I leave the table before the bell rings because it gives your own students to answer the others questions. It never fails, they always ask about different aspect of the ministry and this gives your students an opportunity to reach out also. |

I coach basketball, the "How can I serve you approach" opens doors almost immediately and visitng sports games - I guess being involved in their lives is key. |

I'll also echo what Tim and TexMex have said, but will also include this resource. Check out www.everyschool.com. |

Good response from TexMex below. I echo his answer. |

Great question. I coach, sub, bring cafeteria ladies pizza for their lunch hour. I ask if they need help at dances, then I show up if they do! If you are the football chaplain, then you have an automatic ticket. Build your relationship with that coach. Make appointments to meet with him or his assistants during his planning period at school. I use the platform of HOW CAN I SERVE YOU. So far so good. |
