Hey Jake. We have 4 events (1 mission trip and the others are mission projects) that would be considered missional.

We keep an ongoing database of needs from the senior citizens and single mothers. Once there is a need expressed, we promote the need to the group and have individuals committ. They contact them and take total ownership. We just followup with them to make sure they went through with their commitment.

Also,at Christmas, our Small group (Sunday School) classes adopt a family from angel tree or elsewhere.

Another thing we are getting ready to do is to adopt a couple kids as a youth group.

We also keep resources available for upperclassmen and college students. As our college students go, we have them share.

We are currently in a food drive to collect 2009 cans of food for some people in poverty in inner city Atlanta. We are currently in a campaign (www.dodgehunger.com) to help the teenagers learn we should be involved in doing "good works".

I'm afraid to answer because I might get an ubuse report ;). Nonetheless, a previous youth I started are doing it Salvation Army style - Friday nights bi-weekly they go to the homeless, prostitutes and drunkards and preach, pray and minister. They'd been having a ball and amazing stuff happened. William Booth always said: "Go for souls and go for the worst"

We have adopted a community in our area and we serve there at least once a month if not more. It's been great.
