A friend is going through a tough time.
First and for most my friend for a long time went from an atheist to agnostic. So, that is a wonderful movement in the light of becoming closer to God for my friend. He told his mother the other day that he is an atheist. Two days ago his atheist girlfriend broke up with for reasons between them.
My question/ideas are this... I want to take him to a cemetery and not preach, but share my heart with him about suffering and life after death. An example would be a movie called "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry." Jonathan Sperry did a lesson in the cemetery. However, I would love to correlate it towards my friend. Possibly my friend might give his life right there in the cemetery. Any ideas?

What a great place to be that you can lead your friend to Christ! I admire your desire to hit the situation head-on. And my personality may be comp. diff from yours. But if I were you, I'd stay away from the cemetery. He is not a person who could just care less about eternity. By being atheist/agnostic, he's clearly thought it out. Going to a cemetery just points to the most fundamental disagreement between the two of you. While Jesus referenced eternal judgment, he didn't do it nearly as often as he referenced the positive aspects of the Kingdom of God (peace, abundant life, provision). Also, when he referenced eternal judgment he was often addressing the PHarisees. I would love your friend and discuss things n a civil manner.Let God b God |
